Steering ultra light

My 96 Dodge ram 4x4 with Diesel has very light steering no play evry thing is new from moog my dealer thinks my pump puts out to much presure has any one who owns a dodge had this kind of problem Jake53

It is pretty difficult for the power steering pump to put out too much pressure without making one whale of a noise. If it has lots of miles and was not periodically flushed, you could have stuck the overflow valve which will result in too much static pressure. But if that happens the fluid will get hot in a very short time, and the pump will groan from pulling too hard.

I would suspect the steering gear box has stuck or worn out the regulator valve plates that align oil holes to regulate the flow and pressure as you turn the wheel. If that happens you can get full on boost when you first touch the wheel.
