starting problem starter
about 2 weeks ago i changed out my starter i had from auto zone in there for 2 yrs . it had started giving me hard starting problems slow turn over etc. well after new starter went in she fired right up just like old times. well about a week later i pulled in to a contruction site and shut it off when i went to restart it 2 min later there was nothing batterys are good had lights and all. so i figured starter right ? newest component so i pulled it out and brought it to a close by auto zone they tested it and said it was bad got a new one and installed it . it had blown the starter selenoid fuse so i changed that and she fired right up. drove her home and parked it . went to leave the next day and same thing nothing
so i pulled it again and brought it to another auto zone they tested it and said it was bad as well. ok one more i put it in reached in and she fired right up shut her down and went about my business next day i went to leave and dead again
i cannot believe that these starters are all bad ? can it be ?
any thoughts or help would be appreciated its sitting there dead right now starters are under warr but i am sick of changing them and whats going on

What you are experiencing is pretty much the norm with rebuilt starters anymore. The solenoid contacts are usually the problem, and can easily be replaced with a set of the heavy aftermarket contacts available from most diesel performance folks like Geno's or PDR, etc.
If you need the starter itself rebuilt, do not waste you money on the store specials, but find a good local automotive electrical rebuilder and have them rebuild your old starter.
