Scanner "Can not communicate" with truck
When I took my truck to the shop to get the trani rebuilt, the guy hooked it up to his scanner and it said "can not comunicate". After the rebuild he tried to clear the 868 code and it said the same thing. We both thought he had faulty equipment and down the road I went. I stopped at another shop and his said the same thing.
One was a Snap On, ant the other was something else high dollar but I can't remember what. I have personally use a cheapie from Advanced with out a problem in the past. Have you guy's heard of such a problem. Do you think it's thier equipment, or my truck. Thank's.

I have run into this same problem with MODIS, and all the latest updates. What it turned out to be, was a bent male connector pin on the truck side. Inside the aldl plug. it wasn't bent much, but just enough that the scanner plug couldn't make proper contact, and thus could not communicate with the truck.
We tried the truck on MODIS, Vantage, and an OTC scanner, before I had the common sense to look at the connector plug.
But, life goes on.
Good luck with it
