rear disks
rear disks
Help..I replaced the rear pads several months ago with no problems and good braking. The other day my wife stated she thought she could smell "hot" brakes. I didnt see anything wrong and didnt notice the smell, perhaps because I am a guy. During a 400 mile roadtrip I heard a "scraping or grinding" sound coming from the drivers side rear; drove the truck home and pulled the caliper, the pads look good. I am attmpting to remove the disk to check the parking brakes (possibly someone neglected to release it...) but I cant get the disk off, havent resorted to a BFH simply because I wouldnt know where to smack it. Any ideas?
Had the same problem a few weeks after I did my rear pads. Found that one of the calibers was sticking. Find which side is hot and replace that caliber. Asked on here and was told that it is not uncommon for them to do that.
