Cool Questions installing draw straw

Hi everyone, 1st post, been reading alot on here, have the fuel gauge problem and the fuel line rusted off on top off module. already p/u the draw straw kit, and the float from dodge. started out good, got the bed raised up and out of the way, have the fuel module out and removed the rusted metal lines and ready to reinstall the draw straw kit. my questions are these, it has the large hard tube attached but the return has nothing no threads, do I need a hose on it? the large has is threaded, and has a fitting in there aready, but nothing on the return side. next the fittings on top are big and they willnot fit my lines, which look fine, just need to cut the stock fitting off and find out how to attach to them. or I might just get 13' of 3/8 and 13' of 5/16 diesel rubber lines and go all the way up. but how do I take off and reattach from there, if I go this route. I looked up under there by the starter and found the lines, but not sure how to remove and fit to the new lines. what else do I need.

you can use 3/8 fuel hose from the draw straw barb to your stock hard line beside the tank, just hose clamp the end on the stock line. do the same thing with 5/16 line for the return.

The draw straw does not come with a line for return inside the tank, it merely dead ends at the bulkhead adapter. I have been running this setup for about a year no problems to report.

I also left the stock basket on the bottom of the fuel tank module, and let the straw rest on top of that, with a slight angle cut on the end to make sure there would be no fuel starvation. Works like a charm.

Have fun putting it together

Smile draw straw

Got it done, thx. I cut the stock end clips that were rusted and could not get it apart, removed a couple off inches of plastic line to metal, and put on hoses and clamps at frame. I also just used the bottom basket, and my gauge works fine again without the chime. saved alot of cash doing it this way, instead of paying the dealer 476 bucks for the whole unit. now im going to por15 the frame while the bed is off, new shocks to.
