powersteering pully
If its like gm and others its pressed on. AP stores sell a 2 piece clam shell lookin deal that pulls it off. I have used a regular puller, but theres not much to grab onto in the center of the pulley. And with the new pump they usually just put it on with a bolt and thick washer threadded into the pump end. If theres an autozone near they might rent you one.
This link will show the puller that Apache is referring to and very likely the one that you need:

If the pulley has a center hub with a recessed groove about 3/16" back from the front face of the hub then that's the puller you need.
If you have the pump off the truck, take it into Autozone and borrow their puller for free.
Don't try using a 3-jaw puller with the jaws on the outer circumference of the pulley....it will bend the pulley.

the hex on the shaft has nothing to do with the removal of the pulley. it is pressed on and you need a puller as mentioned as well as an installer to pull it onto the shaft. its a saginaw pump dodge as well as gm use it. same service procedure on all makes.
