No power, check engine light

Just bought this 06 2500 cummins three weeks ago. now on the first long trip the check engine light came on and instantly I had no power. It will run 65-70 on level ground but shift in and ot of overdrive, will go up a hill at about 5mph max! let it sit over night ran fine with chenck engone light on but the light cleared . next day check engine light and same thing....

Stopped at a dealer in SLC they read the code (but didn't reset it) as a misfiring cylinder and said might be a dirty injector. And didn't offer any fix!

I'm 3000 miles from home and need to get it home.

Man, that sucks! It's ashame you couldn't diagnose it yourself and save about $700 on the ordeal. I don't care if the admins bleep this out or not but dealerships are a straight rip-off when it comes to R&R!!!!!!!

Glad you got it back going though.....hope it keeps you trouble free for a long time!

Was not a dealer, was a big diesel repair place in Knab Utah, they did a fine job of diagnosing the problem and getting me on the road in less than half a day!

$1000 to replace injector, I have been under charging all these years I guess dealerships aren't the highest price in town.

The dealer just north of Salt Lake told me it was probably dirty injectors the day before and sent me on my way without any help...dealers suck. They didn't even give me any paperwork, I bet they knew the warranty was about to expire and just didn't want anything to do with it....

I would agree with you there, I would still call Chrysler Customer service and tell them what happen and they might still reimburse you for the injector cost. It's worth a try
