Need help...not diesel related though

I need help with my other truck, which is a 2001 Ford Expedition with the 5.4 and auto trans 4x4. Im asking here cause I dont know where else to turn at this time.

The check engine lite came on tonight as well as the o/d off light on the shifter began to flash.

Anybody have any ideas as to what it could be? I need to get this diagnosed ASAP...if I dont get it fixed, then the wife has to drive my truck

I have been told that when the o/d light starts flashing it means you have over heated the trannie. I have seen this happen when one of the cooler lines gets clogged.
You should be able to take it to your local shucks, autozone, or other fine auto establishment and have them put a code reader on it and find out why your check engine light is on.
