miss or surge at idle

i have a 99 24 valve that runs great, at first start up, when the engine is cold, the idle is fine but as it warms up it is like a switch goes off and the engine sounds like it is running on 4 cylinders it has a very bad miss that just started 3 days ago but only at normal operating temp and at idle there dose not seem to be any problems with power, when I rev it up above 1000 rpm everything runs fine, I always buy fuel at the same place and I use lucas fuel treatment i have 79,000 miles and the only mods are a k&n air filter and an edge ez about 1 1/2 weeks ago any info on this would be great thanks also i have not checked any fuel pressures yet mabey this week i just drove it to town and now i think that it is missing throughout the rpm range but no apparent power loss

So is it just a rough idle after running down the freeway? My truck does the same thing. I don't thinks is an issue, just part of the beast's nature.

I haven't seen any MPG difference or power difference in my truck.

I'll be the pessimist here:

That's exactly what mine was doing when my VP44 died.

Anything below 1,000rpms it would miss and stumble.

Always first startup of the day,
any startup after sitting over 6 hours or so,
coming down freeway offramps and sitting at lights.

Mine only had 4,000 miles on it, lift pump was and still is good, no codes were ever thrown.
No noticable decrease in mileage.

Replaced under warranty, and has been fine since, @35,000 miles currently.

I have a pressure gauge and it shows 15psi at idle and 13psi at 70mph. I sure do hope the VP44 doesn't go on me. But hey you pay to play...
