Dealer wants $270 for new one, check engine light came on w/ comp (no wire) -- for the trip to the dealer I removed comp and put original sensor back in. Does that mean that there is a problem with the comp and I should tell dealer not to fix? -- not under warranty.

see a cummins dealer it will be less then $50, I think mine was 30ish
