A friend just called me, his truck will start, but before he can move it, it dies.

I had him check codes and he got:

P1594
P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor
P1693 - Companion Code

Truck is a 2001 3500 QC 4x4 Auto

Any ideas on this other code, or something to check?

No idea why that would keep the truck from running though.

P0500 is no big deal....I disconnected my batteries and it went away...either that or it may have an issue with the abs sensor on the read diff.

 

Thanks, I haven't heard from him today, so I guess he got it going.

If not, he'll just have to drive is new '05. He got it in October, and it still doesn't have 1000mi in it, he just didn't want to get it in the salt . (I can understand him, though)
