Help with 48re

I have 04.5 auto. Trans. is very sluggish, and is hesitating to downshift when stopped, or stopping, like it is starting in 2nd, or 3rd gear. Read in some previous posts about a chaffed wire somewhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
If you pull shifter into manual low does it downshift? And it will upshift into higher gears when taking off?
If above are true, then a gov pressure soleniod replace is probablly in order. Most recommend replacing Gov Pres Transducer at same time. This is O'K.
Is it time for a trans servcie. Inspecting contents in pan, finding more than oil could be worrisome.

If you manually pull it down, it will downshift, sometimes. If you put it in neutral, or park it will go to low gear. It shifts fine when upshifting. If you completely stop, let it roll forward at idle speed about 10 feet, you can feel it almost bump, and go to low gear. Changed filter, and inspected pan, nothing out of the ordinary.

same thing happened to me...replace the govenor pressure solenoid and transducer, and get the bands adjusted at the same time. It will run like new.
I bought my parts at the dealer, which was stupid by the way but I needed them fast. Cost me about 300 bucks and about 1/2 an hour to fix

Pressure solenoid,transducer

I have the opposite problem, Won;t upshift at times. Will the pressure solenoid, transducer rplacement fix that also? Or do you think that's more of a band adjustment issue?
Thanks

Smartin1...does it do it in all gears? does it hesitate then shift up at a high rpm? mine has only been doing it in 2nd that I can tell. I was told that the TV cable adjustment will fix this.
