I would definetly go with a cummins gasket, now might even be a good time to stick in a marine gasket and some studs

IIRC the marine gasket is a little thicker. And my general feeling is if something breaks, and a stronger option is avalliable, it gets replaced with the heavier duty version. Even if you don't "need" the heavier duty version. (unless the upgrade part is completely cost prohibitive)

When I did mine I got one from Cummins, and it couldn't hold up to the old 12v! I went through 4 hgs. But with your truck bein stock I would definatley go with Cummins, get one through a big truck store not the *******, about $60 bucks from a KW store! More than twice that at the dealer.

Is the marine gasket merely thicker, or is it constructed differently from the stock one?
