at least 15 typo's make the post a little difficult to read. for starters...its a cummins. 1300 is pretty high for the first level. have you tried to turn it up and take advantage of possibly more timing or post? what are your boost numbers? what are you doing to get to 1300?...drag racing, towing or just driving? fill out your sig too

Adjust your right foot as you see the temps going up while climbing hills.

you should be able to set the fueling in the edge options to your likings. 1300 is pretty high for level 1 power.

My EGT's never get over 1000 with my box off and never over 1100 with it on the low setting 70hp. But my box is a little different than yours.

And Welcome to the Diesel Truck Resource.

OK - Rod has a HPCR in his 3rd Gen truck, so that means the piston alloy used and the oil cooling jets under the piston crowns (not to mention the emissions-friendly retarded timing, etc.) will allow much higher EGTs to be safely run.

I wouldn't go over 1400*F for extended periods, such as towing; and wouldn't worry about short excursions to 1600*F - like you'd observe in drag racing or sled pulling.
