my check engine light came on and the truck started to run rough.It will rev up and down when going around 40-50mph.I took the truck to a local garage to have them hookup and scan what codes it was putting out and they said it was a code #po1693 and something about a J TEC Controller and we can not find out what that code is and what a j tec controller is. Looked on this site under codes and no listing . I really dont want to have to take this to a dodge dealer at a gazillon dollars per hr

does anyone have any ideas I would really appreciate some help

The code should be P 1693, and it is a companion code to P 1690 which is low fuel pressure.

From the code, I suspect you have a 24 valve second gen truck, and likely have a failing lift pump.
