Clearance Lihgts wiring help

Clearance Lihgts wiring help

Iinsalled factory clearance lights on my 99 CTD,lost the directions before I was done with wiring,I can't remember where to tap wire at distribution block under hood.If anybody has any info, I would really appreciate It.

I dont think you tap a wire under the hood. I installed factory lights on my truck and it tried to point me to the back of the fuse block in the cab. You were suppose to tap into some kind on stupid connector on the back on the fuse block. I could never find it, so I found a wire going to the overhead console that was hot when the lights were on and spliced into it. We're not talking about alot of power so I don't see where it matters. Mine have been in for about 6 months now and no problems. Thats how I did mine.

you may of had the factory wire already in the roof so the wire you tapped into is protected and run off a relay so you wont overload and damage the switch.
