I was towing my 5th wheel with the cruise on at 55mph,when all of a sudden my cruise shut off and the check engine light came on,Ipuuled over and restarted the truck with no problem except light stayed on.After about 10 resarts the light has not come back on.Any idea what could of caused this.I have not had time to get it scanned yet.Its not a daily driver so I will get it checked out soon.Thanks

 

I can't remember if you can do the "ignition on/off 3 time trick" with a 99 or not. But if you can, turn the ignition on/off/on/off/on and leave it on. Read the codes in the odometer window and report back.

 

Can't do that with a '99, just take it to Autozone and they will read the codes for you.
