Brake Job Woes

Just finished a complete brake job. At 108,000 miles it was time for a good going over. Replaced pads, shoes, calipers, and wheel cylinders. Turned drums and rotors. After reassembling everything and bleeding out the line everything is great; stops better than it ever has since I've owned the truck. But........ now the "ABS" and "BRAKE" light on the dash are on. I know everything is working ok from the way it stops, but the dash looks like a Christmas tree. How do you reset these lights or systems?????

Try disconnecting the batteries for an hour or so.

It could be the rear wheel speed sensor on top of the rear diff. Mine came on about a month ago. It turned out to be a fuse. A lot cheaper than the speed sensor. Is your speedometer working properly?

Most likely a speed sensor. 4 wheel abs or rabs?If 4 wh abs you could have disturbed a front wheel sensor or wire. Air in the abs unit will set the lights too.

Thanks for the suggestions! As it turns out I didn't have to do anything. I wasn't going to deal with the dash lights after finishing the brake job late at night. Parked the truck planning to to work on it the next day. Next evening I fired it up to put it in the garage and all the lights went out a normal. Great brakes and no warning light. Life is good!
