Re:auto trans. acting up

The guy that put in my septic system has the same year and model as yours, and had a simialr problem early on. He ran some Duralube in the transmission (Auto) and the problem went away. Most of the time is is towing a heavy front-loader/backhoe in a 28' Gooseneck, and now has close to 200K without any further problems. I have heard that Duralube is a really good product; you may want to try this before spending a lot of money on troubleshooting. Keep us posted on how it goes; good luck.

Try resetting your APPS. There's a procedure for it in the Tech Facts section.

Re:auto trans. acting up

You can also try ProLong I put some in my Talon the other day and no BS I could hear the sound of it change while idling. The motor also had a little miss and after I put some into it the problem was gone. Then make a tranny one to I bet it works its a patented lube of sorts I guess!

Hey Barracuda! I had the same problem with my truck & It needed TSB 18-02-99 this also fixed the surging cruise control & shift point problems on my truck!
FYI it cost me about $65 well worth it!

Re:auto trans. acting up

I agree with Drecu... i had the same problem, it was the TPS or throttle control sensor...and yeah, it was about $65.00. I dont know exactly how it works but it's somehow connected with the braking system. I had the very same symptoms.. got my TPS replaced and noticed a huge difference right away.

Re:auto trans. acting up

Well basically the engine oil is very sticky so when you turn your engine off all the oil does not leave the top of the engine dry so it elimenates dry starts &amp; knocking &amp; stuff like that I have used it in all our engines &amp; it makes an awesome differance I can also go to 5000 Miles in our gas engine no prob.

Now the Tranny stuff is amazing! our van had a tranny seal leav around the speed sensor, &amp; I put this stuff in cause it was leaking very heavily &amp; i did not have time to fix it well I put this stuff in &amp; it fixed the leak! also I noticed an immidiate differance when I put this stuff in it is also very sticky &amp; last service we had done on the tranny 80k &amp; never changed it before! it looked brand new minimal shavings I was amazed I also am using this in my truck when I change the fluid!
BTW it's very thick so you'll have to have some time to get it all in!

I have 2 uncles who are mechanics &amp; they sware ny the stuff that's how I heard of it!

well i'm sure you have enough info now!
But they also make power steering fluid &amp; that stuff is amazing too my pump was in bad shape on my truck it was dry when I bought it. &amp; I put the stuff in &amp; I have not had a lick of trouble!

Ok i'm done!

Re:auto trans. acting up

;DHay I think Lucas is a good product an I use it every oil change in all my cars an trucks hay my wifes dodge conversion van has (beleave it or not) 419000 miles on a 318 engine, But I also beleave that there is no such thing as MIRICAL in a can if you already have a problem there is nothing in a can or bottle that will FIX IT. Most people just foul themselves thinking this is a repair.<br> But that is just my thought ??? Bob
