24v arp head studs HELP!!

Ok just put my head back on, and cant get any of the back studs in, am i doing something wrong? I know you can changed studs out one at a time, so i dont think they need to go in with the head? And the cowl plugs are too far over to help, i'm on the exhaust side and i'm just not seeing this?? HELP!!!!

I had the same trouble installing ARP head studs in my 98.5. There must be a difference in some of the early 24 valve trucks with the clearance between the head and cowl. The problem in mine was the last three studs on the exhaust side and my solution was to lever up the cowl with a 2x4 and another block of wood. I had to lift the cowl about an inch and was worried that it would kink but it worked OK.
