2007 problem!!

Hello, I have a 2007 5.9L and at about 3000 miles the check engine light came on. I took it to the local dealer and they said the code was P2609 and replaced the intake heater. I drove 2 days and last night while warming the truck up the check engine light comes back on! I have tried the cycling of the ignition but this does not seem to work on 2007. This is my 1st Dodge and my last truck was a 2003 Ford powerstroke. I thought I would buy a Dodge to try them out. Hope this is'nt a preclude of things to come. Truck only has 3400 miles on it! Any help on how to retrieve codes on a 2007 cummins? Thank You, Grant.

I just new here gw, but on my 2001 I can turn the ignition switch on and off 3 times fast and while your in the 3rd on position, watch your odometer. It will give you any error codes that can be goggled.

Good Luck!

Thanks

I tried the key cycling again and it worked. Same code as the dealership said they addressed. Intake heater. I looked at where the intake heater is and I highly doubt the dealership I took it to was able to change it out as they said they did in 1/2 hour. What do you folks think. Anyone else with this problem?? Thanks, Grant.

yes you could change a grid heater in 1/2 hour...if they did may be another story
you don't see to many grid heater codes on our truck they seem to work really well.

I just got my 2006 CTD back from the shop with the same problem. They had my truck for 3 weeks. They ended up putting a new ECM in it New Batteries and wire harness. seems to be working fine now, I would push for the ECM if you still have problems. By the way the dealer I took my truck to said that they had created a TSB base on my trucks problem. So there is a fix!!

Sure, grid heater on a 5.9L is an easy half-hour.
