So I borrowed my father inlaws 2003. My wife was complaining that it was making a noise up front. She got a colleague of hers to take a listen. It was the pwr steering pump. It turned out to be a leaking hydro boost inlet line was shot. Long story short I R&R'd it and took it for a spin all was good.

My wife took the truck into town and all of a sudden the tranny quit working. She was pressing the gas and the truck was slowing down. She barely got it home. I checked the fluid and all looked good. I took it down the road an sure enough it wouldn't move. I think/thought the trans is shot.

I ended up talking to Dave Goerend because he just finished another trans for me and he told me to check the filter if the fluid and the pan looked clean which it was. I changed the filter and fluid and low and behold it was seemed to work fine after. I have not had a chance to drive it for more than 10-15 minutes to get it warm and hot. when i get back home ill take it for a spin and test it a little more Could it really be this simple or am I on borrowed time LOL ?
