06 Check engine light on!!!

Normally the truck starts right up. This time I went to start it and didn’t start right up. I cranked for about 5 seconds, stopped waited a few seconds and it started right up. Went were I needed and turned it of. After a bit I went to go again and it started right up but the check engine light is on now. Seems to be running fine but the darn light is on.

Only had it a month and only have 1,500 miles on it.

In my 02 I was able to check for codes with the odometer, but I can’t remember how to do it. Anyone know if the codes can be checked the same way? If so how?

I never had any problems with my 02. Man this is a bummer as the dealer is 70 miles away.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

P2509 ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent, read in an old post that someone cleared the code after having the battery disconnected for about an hour, but no sooner.

you're welcome, cheney huh? kinda far to pop over for a beer.

are you having any trouble with cranking speed or starter trouble? the code should go out after a couple heat/cool cycles. completely warming up, cooling down several times if the problem is no longer there, it will clear itself.

Thanks everyone for the responses. The light did go off after I started it again.

All this computer and electronic stuff freaks me out.

There was a thread recently having to do with intermittent check engine light at startup. Apparently, when you turn the key to start but get distracted the computer is still looking for the truck to start. A long delay before starting triggers the check engine.
