Whites Out or Whites In?
Depends on the tires. i dont have a matching set as of yet cuz i cant afford them yet but my front are out and the backs hidden. and i kinda like the white out but it is on a meaty tire. but hidden is nice too so i have to go hidden cuz they are easier to keep clean. and jory that is a very nice truck. luv the mud accents.
We run a large tire shop and my educated guess is that probably 90% of our customers, car and truck, specify letters in, black out.
Like already said, these tires cost big bucks and I have never seen an advertising check mailed to anyone for wearing billboards on their wheels.
White letters out is like paying for a cap, or tee-shirt, with someones logo on it.
As a matter of principle, I turn the letters inside on my personal vehicles.
That being said, it never fails, if a customer leaves a vehicle, and does not specify which way they want the tires turned, when they come to pick up the vehicle, we have to turn the tires over.
Also, many times, the husband will bring in the wives car, he will say how he wants the letters, tomorrow, that car will be back to have the tires turned over, as per wifey's specifications; we always charge for this, or we would be doing it every day.
You know my vote depends on what type of wheels you have on the truck. If you have the stock wheels, I think the white out looks okay. Although, when you spend the money for the wheels, I think you should go black out. You should draw more attention to the wheels then. Plus white out on chrome or polished wheels looks way to "busy" for me.
It depends on the tire/wheels, but 90% of the time i like the whites out.. And what difference does it make if you work your truck or not as to wether the whites are in or out?? I work my truck plenty, and it gets muddy too.

I didn't get a chance to scrub on the letters in these pics otherwise it would have looked better.
I like the look of whites out. When you are rolling down the road, it gives your truck a little more flash. The white's in just looks plain to me. But I do agree that they look good on certain tires and bad on others.

I'm assuming those who run white letters out are over 50, right?
my parents neighborhood is full of retired folks... guess what... white letters and white walls from here to tomorrow...
I say black out ALWAYS, but especially if you've got some offbrand tire! LOL!
but I did recently see ONE vehicle w/ white letter tires that actually looked good... it was a chromed out blue Pete 379 w/ a nice trailer... polished wheels all around, and white letter GOODYEAR tires all around!
I'd never seen that before, but it looked cool... a little old school for my taste, but it was cool none-the less...
as all of our trucks were built after 1980, all tires should be black out

379's look good even without the tires! I love those trucks!
I tried to vote both ways...
it depends on the vehicle!
My '98 Ram has whites out - more of a young man's truck.
My '05 Ram has whites in - cleaner look, more refined for an older fart.
