I know i havent posted much i've been real busy. I've also done some horse swapping i recently sold my 2001 for a decent profit and picked up a 2003 sport ho auto dually. I really didn't need the 4wd anymore and the mileage it got wasn't all that great. I would often find myself driving the old 2wd gmc more than i drove it. I know i'm sure to regret it and in fact there is days I do. However i think i got a real good deal on the ho dually and the suff it needs is really minor. I think with a little elbow grease i'll have a real nice truck. from what i've read already the 03 and 04.5 are desired years and the h.o. seems to put out decent hp and torque.just thought i'd get everyones 2 cents on what all is needed modifications

Hey man, the 03's were the best for fuel mileage of the CR's. I'd leave her stock and take care of the tranny.

I almost bought an 03 before I bought my 06 just because of the mileage issue. I have a friend with an 03 6sp 4.10's, pulls a 16K fifth wheel and gets 12.5 towing.

Congrats on the new ride.

Dave

yeah so far i'm liking the mileage seems to do pretty decent empty. I had originally planned to leave her stock but i got a killer deal on a edge ez, sb intake, and a banks high ram that has the 3.5" outlet...all of it for 350.00. other than putting stacks on it that will be all the engine modding i'll do though(been wanting a stacked truck for a while...lol)
