Wanting to buy

I am interested in buying a dodge diesel. I am going to buy a used one, probably 1994-2000 model. I was wondering which is better 12v or 24v. I am going to use this as a daily driver, but also drag race it. Which would be easier/cheaper to mod. And how reliable will it be? Is it possible for me to have a 500hp+ and use it as my daily driver? Sorry for all the questions new to the dodge/cummins. Thanks.

12 valve is the most reliable, 500 HP daily driver is very doable. Get ready to open the wallet. At 500 hp you will need to get a custom built auto if you go that route. Someone else will chime in about the manual.
