Turbo Timer

Do you guys use turbotimers on your trucks? If so what brand do you use? I dont like having to sit in the truck wating for the turbo to cool down hen I'm in a hurry and need to get in and out of somewhere quickly. Also how do you tell when it is ok to shut the engine off? I just generally wait 2 minutes to be on the safe side.

I have the Cool Engine Shutdown that goes along with my X-monitor, so mine goes by EGTs. That way if the engine is really hot (AC all day, driving hard on the way home, etc) it will idle longer than if I just go to the store down the street.

I'm using one of Howard's cool down timers as well. Inexpensive, easy install, quality product, works great.

I'm in the process of getting a timer, i know guys that have one off of Geno's garage. For now, I wait until the Pyro reads about 200-250. Usually only a couple minutes

I've been thinking about turbo timers, what is the ideal temperature to shut down at?

I just follow Cummins recommendations and shut mine off as soon as I stop unless I've been towing, then a couple minutes or 300° on the pyro works for me.
