Where exactly in the diesel chain of events (suck, squeeze, bang, blow) does explode fit in ?

I would've never imagined an engine block failing like that. Maybe more localized ... definately not all the way down the line. Amazing.

Gives new meaning to the phrase "POP A TOP"

That's unreal to think a motor could grenade like that!

In each picture the guys face is exactly the same...appears to be in deep thought...
perhaps something like...
"I wonder if we torqued those bolts after all those beers, bottle of Scotch and the pizza?
Man do I have a headache now."

or...

"Thats what I forgot to tighten."

Might need a checklist next time.

Jeez. That's insane!!!! I didn't think it was possible to split an inline block right down the center like that. The greatest part about this is that it's not the fact that he split it, it's the fact that he blew it completely apart. That's incredibly impressive.

Your wrong , that was pure pressure that did that , 150 + lbs of boost.

This is what the beginning stages of a runaway look like, i was there for this one , and i was in the process of running away myself ( I was standing trackside)

My teacher was there for that, and he has his own pictures of what he saw. He said it was once of the loudest "metalic" booms he ever heard in his life

That would be the little brother to the 466 international , i can't remember the exact displacement now.

It was used in 1066 as well as 966 and possibly a couple other models of international tractors. the bigger tractors used the 466.

I've seen them toss a head before but I've never seen a block torn like that I think whoever was the head bolt or more likely stud maker should capitalize on that one
