if the 6.0l is the only reason you dont like the ford and you want the big back seat- maybe you should find a nice early 2000's crew cab to do a swap
I am glad I did I just think the fords are built a little better
my next one will be a F350 CC LB Superduty with a 610 series Cummins

Well if you like those D-MAX'S you should of caught yesterdays Etreme 4x4 episode they went to Banks Enginering and built a D-max from the ground up with twins, it dynoed at over 720HP and over 1127FT/LBS of torque. They had a cool looking intake sitting in the middle it kinda looked like a blower on a draggster.

You can probably pick up a Ford 6.0 with a scattered motor at a decent price then put your Cummins in it.

well I drove my buddy's dad's 03 crew cab dually 6 spd. Lariat, with a standard Bullydog power pup downloader, & I Loved it, it was super comfortable, had plenty of power, & more than enough bells & whistles, I just don't know if I would ever be satisfied with any auto, allison or no allison I hate to spend that kind of money & end up not being satisfied??? I really like the thought of a white crew cab dually with the dark leather int. & a ranchhand replacement up front black nerf bars & a black steel flatbed, what'yall think?????? as for power how would the edge hot juice/attitude, exhaust, SB Con FE, & an intake of some sort??????? Definatly not gonna go with a DD clutch in the next one, just not practical for me, but what could I expect to pay for a truck like I described with say 75,000 miles or less on it???????? ( loaded Lariat truck, minus the bed & bumper & all the extras & such) thanks for all the thoughts/opinions, Dusty

I watched that too. When they were looking at the glowplugs he said 'In order for a diesel to start on cold mornings they need these things called glowplugs.' I'm sitting there thinking... heh... yeah, right. My trucks started all winter without grids and it never phased her in the least.

I guess I have been around some bad D-Maxs
I was told Powerwise they are good empty but not great with a load behind them- and the best MPG I have seen was only like 16
Our 610 Series Cummins with an Auto gets 19.5 constantly and it only gots 15k on the clock

You cant go wrong with the Duramax. I now have 90,000 on my 04 and love it. This towing debate is very overrated. I owned a 99 dodge and my Duramax tows the exact same if not better. I tow the same equipment that I use to, so dont let that argument sway you. Its a farse I have owned them all, except ford, and I would not go to a ford at all. I still like the dodge, but for luxry and tow I went with the crew cab chevy.
