Getting ready to do all the PM on my dads 02 jetta. What oil are you all using? My 2 local choices are Mobil turbo diesel truck syn or rotella T syn. From what I have read on the TDIculb site CH-4 or CG-4 or better will work in that year fine. I would ask over there but they seem way to particular about oil for my taste.

 

Any current rated diesel oil should be fine!

You need special oil (505.01) for the >04.5-'06 PD motors, NOT yours!

I heard of many running Mobil1 synthetic, Shell Rotella, etc.

Well I bought some rotella T syn. Thats what I run in my truck so i figured just keep the fleet on one oil. I had a ton of trouble finding a place that wasn't sold out of syn diesel oil. The local wally world had it.

 

i use mobil one turbo diesel truck oil in my 2000.what ever you use keep it synthetic.10,000 miles change intervals.

 

Any diesel synthetic oil will be just fine. We use Mobil 1 Delvac here @ the V-dub dealership I'm at. The weight should be 5w40.

 

Use the same stuff. I'm coming up on my 10,000 mile oil change and it's only used 1/8 of a quart. Pretty impressive.
