Have you priced one lately?
true. the whole thing was that they were claiming that the theives were melting down the precious metals inside and selling it.

now yes i know there is platinum in there however. in order to make any money off of it think about how many catylitics you are going to need to turn any type of profit.

you can get an aftermarket catylitic for pretty cheap around here. either way they blew the whole story out of proportion on the news. like they do with anything.

Then You wonder why ppl get shot.
That's probably where your stacks ended up. Never heard of anyone ripping off stainless like that but it wouldn't surprise me. Have heard about cats getting ripped out from under parked cars too. Around here thieves/drug addicts will go into brand new subdivisions where they're putting up new houses and rip all the copper wiring out to sell for dope money. They'll even rip through sheetrock if they come in a little late after the mexicans have already hung it. I've seen newpaper stories where overambitious thieves like that got electrocuted to death trying to steal live power lines.

People realy do sink low.

Last summer up here a couple of guys went to a truck stop and spotted a semi hauling rolls of copper wire/tubing. They backed their Toyota Tacoma up to this trailer of the semi they then proceded to somehow roll the copper off the trailer onto their truck. Needsless to say they didn't get far cause their bed was on the ground, it completly crushed the rear end of this truck.

But to stay on topic I hope you find something out. You had a real nice setup there.

Dirtbags have been stealing metal parts for their scrap value for a while now - especially SS, aluminum & copper... we had a whole stack of aluminum treadplate stolen from our shop year before last.

If it looks pretty - you'd better protect it!

Some people disagree with shooting thieves, but I think it makes sense to give them all of the brass & lead they could ever need... at the cyclic rate of your choice.

Aftermarket Cats have a whole lot less precious metals in them, core guys around here will only pay 4 bucks or so for an aftermarket cat of any kind, vs. up to 150 bucks for the good big GM and some Foreign models.

My stacks would be very hard to steal... they're welded to the croospipe that is bolted to the bed from underneath and I have clamps on top and bottom of the bed for the flex tube that joins them and the rest of the exhaust. I bet the welded portion in the bed weighs atleast 80lbs and is blocked by my toolbox!

At any rate I hope you get your stacks back! Sorry you have to worry about stupid Sh** like this... its rediculous!
