Stolen......

Well this morning at about 4 am my buddies 04.5 was stolen in front of his house in Tempe, Az. Its a 4 door, silver, leveling kit , 35" bfgs, 3 pillar gauge cluster, strait piped and its a short bed. Not sure how hard it is to steal a 3rd gen but I would assume it would be the work of professionals because of the key. Probably is in Mexico by now

Several have been found (if they are recovered) within a few block radius.
The bad guys are wise to the LoJack, so they park them for a couple of days, then if it's still there, they know it's safe to move.

The only thing I hate about living in AZ is the "Thiefs".

Good luck to your friend.

Sorry to hear of your friends misfortune. Hopefully he'll get it back in one piece.
I'll share an experience...my friend had a 98 Ram 1500. I had a 99 2500. His keys went missing one evening so I tried to unlock his door with my key. Not only did it unlock his door, but it started the engine. Then in 03 when I purchased my sig truck, I couldn't find my checkbook. Noticed it missing on Sunday morning. Traded the truck on Saturday. Drove to the dealership and my 99 was sitting outside with the doors locked. Dealership was closed. My son said use this 03 key...yes it did...with a little jiggle, it unlocked the 99's door and there was my checkbook under the armrest! Strange, but true.

Wow thats scary to know that the keys will do that. You wouldnt by chance know if the remote locker worked like that too? I can play some mean pranks on my freinds if my key is magical like that.

Not around here. They usually run for the border and beat it to death with-in two or three days. I feel your pain. I had one stolen and totalled and they tried to get my '99, but where so bad at their chossen profession they could not get it started. They did the same thing to a V-10 4x4 that night also.

I will keep my eyes open. It is an extreme feeling of violation. Everytime I leave my truck I think about if it will be there when I return. When someone looks at one of them (especially if my XR is in the back) it bugs me.

but it would not work the ignition.

pray about it, and be well insured.

It's too bad you can't deal with people like that on a personal level if you know what I mean.

That really sucks. I know how it feels to have something stolen. My brother just moved to Az. I asked him if he researched the area cause I did and found that Az has a VERY high incidence of not only vehicle theft but larceny. His area also has a Meth problem.

Let me tell you guys about my new truck. It's a silver 4 door with really nice guages, short bed and straight piped. The ignition switch is giving me a problem so will have to get a new one installed.

Just kidding. That really sucks and will keep an eye open for this. Actually I keep an eye open for any CTD as I just never see any. If I do see one will check here and see if it matches any stolen descriptions.
Suggestion: To take a truck into Mexico the original of the registration is required. Keep the original hidden so that if a thief does steal your truck he will have a much harder time getting it accross the border.

That is assuming they use a (legal, guarded) crossing. Out '00 was about ten miles west of the I-19 crossing on a small highway that does cross into a small town. The truck showed signs of going and back a forth a couple of times. Actually it had a paper plate on it. We had not recived the registration yet.
