I am just curious about the average payment people pay a month for their CTD. My last one ran me $625 a month. I am now looking to buy a new one and it appears that I am going to be around the same unless I decide to finance the dang thing for a decade

well i came out of a 2003 ford lightning upside down on the deal and rolled into the CTD so my payments are still high...round $467 a month, but insurance is where it hurts at roughly $400 a month

i was young and dumb with a supercharged V8 pick up...had 2 years clean driving, got the lightning and ended up with about 9 citations in a year...now I have somethign big and loud...but slow, so i must pay for my mistakes on insurance

 

When I bought my 01 I had a payment of right about 1000.00 a month for 36 months. They had .9% financing at the time for 36 months. I didnt put one cent down and even rolled in the state sales tax. Figured at that rate I might as well leave my money in the bank since it was making more than that. I sold my old truck outright to a private individual and put that money in strategically timed cds. I set them up so that one came due every 3 months. As one expired I would use one third of it towards the payment each month and I made up the rest. At the time cds were getting 5% (within a couple months cds dropped like a rock). It worked out that the 1/3 of the cd made approx 1/3 of my payment. By doing that the interest I made on all the cds over the life of them made enough interest to cover one payment in the end. So by using their money instead of putting it down it saved me approx 1000.00. Was kind of a pain keeping track of all the cds but well worth the 1000.00 in interest they earned. The amount of my payment had I put down the 13k from the sale of the old truck would have been about the same as the 2/3 I had to make up from the cd so it made sense to me to do it that way. I never would have thought in my wildest dreams I would ever have a car payment of 1000.00 a month. Boy was I glad when the 36 months were up.

Mine was a low mileage Repo when I took over the payments, $675.00 a month. The cool thing thing is there is only 4yrs left owing on it. The guy that lost it had already paid the first 2 1/2 yrs on the truck. Insurance, full coverage, $250/500 deduct. cost about $700.00 a year.

 

DM01Paying for performance parts runs me on average about 300 bucks a month from here on out. I was lucky getting by with just a 100 bucks a month but now I'm passed all the cheap stuff

 

paid cash for both of mine but they both were just under 10k when i got them,.

 

I financed mine for 5 years @ about $360/mo.

 

I refinanced my truck and dropped the payments down $90 to about $560.

I'm paying an extra $400-$700 per month to try and pay it off ASAP. We may send all $2500+ of tax refund to this goal.

I financed it for 6yrs so I could buy more truck than I could afford at the time Now I'm a little wiser. I have to credit my wonderful wife for the financial turnaround I've seen in the last few years. She's absolutely amazing when it comes to money management. Her mother put 4 kids through college on a teacher's pay, so she's learned from someone who's done well.

The sooner I can get this thing paid for, the sooner I can bomb more things

So far repairs have been running about $100/mo. I bought it used and in worse shape than the pics showed. The engine/drivetrain is tight though and the front suspension seems tight also. I have been doing minor repairs since November. Had a major surprise on the brakes though.

I expected some repairs but not this much. Hopefully I'll get everything up to where I want it and the costs will go down to oil and fuel. I still haven't done my first oil change so that'll be $40-50 I assume.

Aw crap, I don't want to think about it right now. Water/meth in January, hybrid turbo in February, getting the trans rebuilt and a SBC Con O at the end of this month, inspection, registration, and insurance coming due next month and I got water out of 2 tie rods last time I greased it. Oh well, most of it is stuff I want to do, not stuff I have to do. Over the last calender year I rebuilt the posi and replaced the starter, the water pump, and the driver's door latch. Not too bad on repairs I don't think, that works out to less than $50 a month.

 

$289/ month for 60 months. I only got it in August though, so I have a while for payments.

 

Paid 7000 outright plus 3000 on repairs and bout 500 on performance. Still need clutch tires, floorpans,and the list goes on and on
