Saw something interesting from Banks....
They had 2 24v motors and a common rail at Festival in the Foothills. One of the 24v's had a Holset VGT (big one) with a Banks controller (at least it had a Banks sticker on it). It also had the Big Hoss intake on it instead of the High Ram. The Big Hoss looks like it's capable of flowing a lot of air. It also had an ex manifold with bellows type expansion joints between the runners, but the flange was solid all the way across.
The other was a HPCR motor with twin turbo's. Not the typical piggybacked setup, but each turbo fed by a 3 port exhaust manifold, feeding 3 intake ports throuh a water cooled aftercooler similar to the one on the Sidewinder truck. I heard the guy say they had just put it together the day before, so I didn't hear anything about actual/expected performance. They looked to be regular (non-VG) turbo's, but the data plates and numbers were removed. Looked like Holsets to me, but I've only actually seen the smaller Holsets and the B1 Schwitzers.
Say what you will about Banks, (I'm not a huge fan either), he is doing some cutting edge stuff. Maybe someone will come up with some pictures.
Too bad none of it is for us properly valved ones, but we have Piers, so who needs him.

I took a tour several years ago of Banks R&D dept in Calif, very impressive.
Place must have several million dollars worth of test equipment with some extremely sharp engineers working with all sorts of engines and vehicles.
Piers has a nice place but compared to Banks it's got miles to go.
Highly recommend the tour for anyone visiting So. Cal.

It's just highly unfortunate that all the good work done by the real backbone of the Banks organization has to get muddled and fuddled through their front office organization.
I couldn't agree more. Mr. Banks is one of the pioneers in power. The front office staff and their business policies need an overhauling IMESHO (based on experience I might add).
Thanks for the post Cowhand! Certainly is nice to see what is going on out there!
