General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

In retrospect, I wish I hadn't done that...

I wish I would not have bought the 275's that added 40 horsepower. I wish I wouldn't have bought the Edge injector tips that made 100 horsepower.

here's a good post:
he lifted his old truck to where it was uncomfortable to use,
so traded it in & lost all his toys

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=125232

i regret putting a box on my perfectly good 04, and ruining it, more or less.
i lost almost a month and a half of use due to box problems,

and ended up, losing the truck due to the ECM not being readable by the dealer to figure out what was the problem.

i've had ~60 cars, and never really cared, swap trade, whatever.

but i LIKED my 04 4x4. i really REGRET tearing it up, and losing it on trade, to get the 06.

the 04 was ME - it was loud, rude, but in the end, capable and loyal and up to ANY job

it's gone, i'll never have it again, the 06 will never be half the truck the 04 was, and it's all my fault.

and occassionally, my wife reminds me of that.

I wish I'd never wasted my time with a 24 valve truck. I should have never bought my 02 truck and wasted a bunch of money trying to build a better fuel system to overcome the design deficiencies. In the end, I still was annoyed by it.

I should have gone straight to a 12 valve truck.

I should have bought the CTD in 91 like I was going to.
I don't regret anything I have done with my truck at all. If I had to get a new one, I would get a 6 spd, but I don't regret building up the auto.

I shouldn't have got on this site, then I'd be content with a little extra power from the 95...instead of starting to build this 98 into a 12.0 second truck

But let's see, I shouldn't have:
Bought the B1 I used to have
Bought the Super B twinset I used to have
Bought the HX40/B2 Twinset I still have.
Bought the 913 pump I've never used
Bought the 2 spare engines I have
Bought the B1-2, Super B single, Edge BB, HX35/40, or S300 I still have
Bought the Laser Cut DV's, and 370's I have

BUT IT WAS/IS SO MUCH FUN
Chris

well, ya only live once, ya can't take it with ya when ya go,and when ya do go , the ones who get it usually don't deserve it ( the gov't) or appreceate it. so live the best you can even if it means stretching your "means" at times, you will find a way to make it work. i have never heard of a man on his death bed saying " i regret not saving more money"

I can help you out with one of those. A 913 pump would look good on my ISB!

Only thing I regret is not shopping around more when I was buying trucks. Should've went 12v like I wanted, but I was in a rush, and have paid for it. But everything I've done to my truck, I'd do it again. Or maybe bigger . . .

The only thing I regret is doing the mods in the order I've done them in. I originally wanted to do fuel system, tranny, intake, exhaust, then power adders. Instead I did intake, exhaust, power adders, fuel system, tranny. Now I need shafts, twins, head work, and more power adders.

I wish I hadn't bought a duramax and dumped a bunch of money into that before i realied i should have bought a dodge. So far I'm happy with what I've done with my dodge and I try to think things through and consider all options before I make any mods.
