question about Diesel fuel

I just traded one of my beloved Rams on an '07 Dodge Sprinter with the 3.0L mercedes mill. Anyway, I love it but am wondering about the warning to use only "ultra low sulphur Diesel". Does this have something to do with the particulate filter maybe? I want to get a set up to make my own Bio Diesel but they warn agaist using it or the "low sulpher fuel". anybody know.

Yes. The regular LSD damages the aftertreatment systems fitted to most 1 Jan 2007 and newer diesels.

Bio diesel has very low to no sulphur content. I'd not be concerned about damaging the after treatment systems with bio.

But I'd also not run a strong blend of bio with an engine like that. I'd run 10% (b10) at the most.

The bio helps a lot with lubricity, which is a big problem with ULSD fuels.
