Cummins looks set to launch a family of vee-configured diesel engines for light-duty trucks and SUVs.
Cummins, of Columbus, Ind., makes the 325-hp, 5.9-liter, inline-six-cylinder engine used in the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 versions of the Ram.
---------
That truck is getting an all-new version of the engine in January. Fitted to a Dodge Durango the Cummins V6 could give a combined fuel economy gain of 44% over a 4.7-litre gasoline engine. Installed in a Dodge Ram, the V8 could achieve a 49% gain over a 5.7-litre gasoline engineDoes anyone have further information bout this?

Why wouldn't DC (Daimler Chrysler) use a Mercedes CDI diesel like they are about to put in the Grand Cherokee and MB GL series?
It seems that Ford would be a better candidate to install the smaller Cummins motors in their F150, Expedition, etc. Didn't Ford's relation ship with International tank after the 6.0h hit the market?
