I hate to see people poo-poo MB diesels. I love my CTD, but MB makes some stout engines. I have a 5.7L I6 thats 36 yrs old and runs great. With proper care, one can get a good 10k hrs out of these old engines. Hell it even has a built in air compressor (kind of a 7th cyl). Just my 2 cents.
