Pump

It's called common courtesy which most people lack. Mainly from their upbringing. This is the result of our entitlment society. "Everybody owes me something" Sorry to say that is what our society has become.

I was filling up a few days ago and a gasser pulled up behind me just as I started pumping. 4 pumps at the place, and I am at the diesel/gas combo one.

I walked back and told them it would be a while I had to pump about 80 gallons. Apparently they didn't understand. They stayed there the whole time while the other 3 pumps weren't being used giving me the eyeball and sighing, etc the whole time. Whatever, I can't help stupid.

I normally try to fill up later at night or early in the AM since there is usually not too many folks getting fuel.

Oh and the $75 limit is crap. I end up having to run my card 3x usually. Flying J here has a $150 limit, still have to scan 2x though.

re Thread Jack:

that's what the guy in CA who built the tranny calls them... he used my small-switch case 47 w/extreme-duty internals and we stuck a Bracket Fighter converter on the front of it - combo is "guaranteed" to be good to 700HP.

Wayne's company makes the hard parts that some of the other well-known tranny builders use in their autos.

I've had it happen too. Waiting in Wallyworld. Only two diesel pumps (on a combo island), about 10 dedicated gas pumps. I had waited about 10 minutes for the diesel. Guy pulls away and I start to back up to the pump. Lady in a Chevy gasser pulls up to pump. I roll my window and yell that #1 I was waiting for the pump and #2 its to only island with diesel (several of the gas pumps were open). She backs up to and lets me in the pump. She finished filling first and pulled around where I was. I stopped her (she was reluctant at first) and told her that I was not trying to be rude and yell at her but it was loud, these are the only two pumps with diesel and I had been waiting awhile. She seemed ok about it. Not totally inline with this thread but sometimes people do get it.

I've been pretty lucky here in Ohio. I've had to wait sometimes while cars sit there with no driver. One time after 3 min. I went into the store to hunt them down; of course it was some lady yakking her pants off to an employee (no I'm not chauvenist, but some women just don't 'get it'). So I asked her could you please move your car so we can pull in & get gas? I use a bit of an authoritative tone to get the point across. Sometimes people need a gentle reminder or prod in the right direction. If you're done, move aside & park it. Common courtesy. Other times I'll roll in all noisy & such with the cummins to make a presence known & eliminate as much doubt or confusion as possible-usually works. If its an old folk, I let them take as long as they need. To the first poster, I woulda turned the truck around & backed in behind the douche bag & let the diesel idle waft towards him for 5 minutes like your tank was on the other side. His windows down & such woulda got the pointafter 1-2 minutes of sulfur his way. If people are that rude, I have no problem exposing it or being forward right back for equal justice lol. I'm always courteous first, then if I find out you're rude, then I'll give it right back. Who says they should have all the fun?

Hey! I resemble that remark! I figure I'm not too bad, though, since I only fill up about once a month (unless I'm on a long road trip, then I try to fill up every 1100 miles or so).

I put one gallon in after the click. I used to fill it up to the neck but I just dont care that much anymore. I have budgeted $20 a week for diesel so that is not an issue right now anyway.

How else are you supposed to pump 40 gallons of #2 into a 34 gallon tank?
