Mine is an identical twin to that one except it has 9 front suitcase weights on it so you can steer while having an 1800lb bale on back 8)

I think all the JD under ~30HP are made by Yanmar from about 93 on. I worked at a rental company and we used the Yanmar made JD's and they held up well. The hydro shift seem to last longer than the clutches if your using it for a loader. Careful putting a hoe on the anything under about 40HP, I've seen a few smaller units break in half. Look at what the rental companies are using, they usually buy the best because they get abused the worst.

One other thing I noticed about the new GrandL 30 series tractors form Kubota. The new front loader uses the same quick attachments that Skedsteers use. 8) (I know a couple guys with alot of skidloader attachments) ;D

I love the 4600, that sucker is a workin machine. We use it for stuff we should have twice that much tractor doing and it just keeps askin for more 8)

 

I've run some smaller 'Botas that worked very well. Surprising power for the size of the machine!<br>You will find they are the most compact of the compacts! <br><br>Lots of low end torque, 4wd works good, always starts in the cold, very quiet.<br><br>Complaints;<br>crappy wiring, much to light!!<br>small fuel tank.<br>cheap plastic components.<br><br>Overall, excellent machines.<br>Sorry, I can't remember the model #'s<br>One complaint I did hear about them was the loader can't be removed from the smaller machines????????? I don't know if thats true or not. Wasn't an issue for me, I was mainly using the loader, feeding bales, cleaning out the barn, leveling yards, fencing. Plus blowing snow in the winter.<br><br>Good machine.

 

Am currently on my second Kubota. Sold my first one, a B7100, 4X4, stick, for $400 more than I bought it for new. This was back in late 80's. Now have a B8200, 4X4, Hydrostatic Drive. Got a loader and 7 1/2' backhoe. Attachments are easy to remove and install. I do landscaping and have a lot of 3 point attachments. Best advise, whatever you buy, get the hydrostatic drive. I have the heel / toe pedal set-up with 3 gear ranges. Smooth and fast.

Another good one to look at is the White or Acgo or Massy Ferg. Not sure if the White is now called Acgo or not. Supposed to be good little tractors at excellent price.<br><br> If you dont need new, try locating a s55 or 550 Oliver, excellent little 35 to 42hp tractors with 6 speed, live pto and 3pt hitch. As others said, later model little fords 2000, 3000 or 4000 series are good. Also the 5040 or 5050 Allis Chalmers (same as 1365 Oliver) made by fiat are dependable tractors that can be had with MFWD. <br><br>Dealer Dealer DEALER thats the most important thing. Did I mention that the local DEALER is important? In fact, he is more important than the brand name on side. GOOD LUCK!

 

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I work for a commercial zero turn radius lawnmower manufacturer and one model we make is a 21hp three cyl Kubota. These are bulletproof if you keep dirt/dust out of them. There have not been many warranty problems. That probably could be said for their tractors.<br><br>walker mower

 

Man, you guys are awesome. 8)<br><br>I got more info here in 2 days then I got talking with dealers in 2 weeks. <br><br>I finally made it to a Kubota dealer today and looked at the GrandL 30 series tractors, those are some nice utility tractors.
