KDP Jig Suggestions
A few more questions on this KDP issue. Is there a way to tell if you have this issue without pulling the timing cover off. I have a 99 which if I understand it all makes it iffy.
Any advice out there on using the jig I keep seing, does it work as well as the regular tabbing process, or is it reccomended to go ahead and tear it apart and fix it that way? If the jig really works where can you get them?

I would definitely take care of the pin if I had a '99, I've personally seen two '99s fail.
Jig is by far the easiest way to go and works just as well as the tab.
If you can change your own oil you can use the jig.
For a jig email Harold at rvhvnfn@juno.com

I believe the tab method is the somewhat preferred fix...there are other bolts in the timing case that can come loose and will cause the very same damage as the KDP...

I just tabbed my 98.5, no step in the cover. I would pull the cover and do it, not to bad of a job. There is lots of instructions around, just do a search for KDP.
