Jeep Liberty CRD ROLLCALL
Wife drives an 06 Libby sport. It's her daily, so I only drive it really on the weekends. It's got about 6k on the clock with no return trips to the dealer.
One thing I will say about it is, I HATE THE TRANSMISSION! it has the 'shudder' thats been mentioned before and it is annoying! And from everything I've read DCX doesn't have an honest to goodness fix for it. Yeah, they have "Band-Aid" repairs. But nothing I've seen fixes it for good.
If it wasn't for the tranny, I'd be 95% satisfied with it.

The wife's got an 05 CRD liberty sport. She traded in her 03 toyota rav for the jeep. It now has around 20,000 miles on the clock, and the only problem was an EGR issue at 7,000 miles. I do get to drive it every once in awhile, and my only complaint is that it is kinda cramped for your feet. She says it is getting around 22 mpg city/26 hwy.
Another thing that baffled me was that the DC dealer, and their tech's told use to use mobile 0w-40 synthetic motor oil since new. It just seemed kinda strange to me to break in a new diesel engine with a synthetic motor oil. Mobile 0w-40 synthetic was also listed in the owners manual as well.

According to the letter we got (I'm sure everyone got the same letter) they stated they would be more than happy to replace the T/C. Which, in and of itself would be OK, but they're just gonna put another stock T/C back in which may last longer than this one did, maybe not. AFAIK they haven't reworked the T/C to beef it up any.
The thing that gets me is they also wanna do an ECM Re-flash while doing the F37. Which from what I gather, Detunes the engine to produce less torque. Theoretically prolonging T/C life.
I'm not at all trying to pick on you RickG. But I would like to know if your Lib has the same seat of the pants feel as it did before the recall?
