Liberty crd
I have one. Great little truck. Google lost kj they have a section in the forum for crd. Only point to remember is the timing belt must be replaced at 100000 miles or 160000 kms.
Pm if you want more info.

Heck if you want mine my wife might let me sell it. Might get a good deal on a new ram and could trade it?

How available are parts, and is the engine simple enough that any diesel mechanic can work on it?
A quick search on Autozone's website lists two internal engine parts- gaskets- and only a handful of external engine parts. Before you buy, it would be good to know if you can get parts. By no means am I trying to discourage- just saying that because it was only made for two years, and the engine is not common here in the states, you might have a difficult time getting hard parts.

I almost bought one, had the cashier's check in the guys name in my wallet. Only problem was it was super low on oil so I didn't buy it. Besides that the seat covers needed a good wash, and it needed tires. Good price as well, and low miles.
I suspect the egr issue pumping oil into the intake/intercooler like someoe mentioned, but didn't want to take a chance.
Made good power for sure, sounded like a little euro diesel.
I read they need torque converters from the factory pretty much and a valvebody as well maybe.

I think we are going to try for a CRD sometime in the next few weeks, figured I'd drag up the old thread. Any updates from those that have one?
Have yet to drive one, sat in a gasser version and thats it. Mod bug already bit me and I haven't even put a deposit on it yet...had GDE tunes and a converter in the shopping cart and the wife almost killed me.
