How's your brakes holding up?
It's sort of a hazy question since it all depends on how much you use the brakes. Brake life for someone driving only in Los Angles rush hour is bound to be shorter than for someone like me who has to drive 15 miles to the first stop sign and 60 to a traffic light.
5 stop lights, and then stop to make a left hand turn
HUH? That's why I asked. I was just wondering if everyone is getting the wear I am getting or if I got some special NASA space craft brake pads or something. 175,000 is pretty unusual so I hear. And I pull a 30 foot GN hauling antique tractors. My 95 truck wore the front pads out clear to the backing plates at 34000 miles. What's up with that? (slush bucket with no Jacobs) Course I'm getting 80000 out of six Michelins too.
I'll replace them this spring.
Coming up on 115K miles and am still on original pads and rotors. I'd estimate there's another 25-50K in the front pads.
I did just order replacement pads and front rotors a couple days ago so I'll have them around 'just in case'.
There's a lot of DC gridlock/stop-and-go driving in those miles too.

DD, think about the difference between an auto freewheeling while slowing down to a down shifted manual, then add in the E-Brake...... I would say that's two totally different worlds.
I think the mileage is still HIGH, I would think at 150K or so I would want to get them off just for safety's sake. Not that the linings still don't have life, but the pad as a whole........

On the other thought, the last time I did a panic stop (some bag of hammers pulled out in front of me
), they worked very well (as evidenced by my passengers forward launch towards the dash). As long as they work like that, my rotors aren't scored or worn, and the fluid is clean, the tires spin freely when jacked up, they'll be there for a while yet.
horribly..thanks for asking

115kmi. three sets of drums, 5 sets of rotors/front pads, four sets rear pads, 4 MCs, should i go on?
