How big of engine hoist for the cummins?

How big of engine hoist for the cummins?

Im looking for an engine hoist what capacity should i look for?

I've never weighed one myself, but the numbers I've seen put both the 12v and 24v in the 1100-1200lb range. Most engine hoists I've ever used have at least a 1 ton capacity, so a normal one should do the trick. Bigger would probably be a little better for some extra peace of mind, but I'd attempt the job with your normal every day cherry picker.

I have a 2ton hoist at its shortest setting ,But at its longest reach its 1/2 ton and thats were it needs to be to pull one out of a Dodge and it will lift it out with most stuff stripped off the engine and the back of the hoist having 200 lbs on it the little 5.9 is a heavy bugger
