General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Good diesel reading?

I have a birthday coming up in November, and I need some good diesel reading (besides just this site). Does anyone know of any good books describing technical aspects of diesel engines? That or turbos in depth... I want a book that is engineering/math intensive also. It doesnt specifically have to be about diesels I guess, but needs to have principles that relate to diesels. So, what would you all recommend?

Seen a turbocharger/supercharger book at Borders bookstore. Looked pretty cool. Didnt read it, because it was pretty technical so I just looked at the pics.

Is the one used in most diesel school courses, pricey, but it's almost a thousand pages.

There are also several diesel related books availible here

"Diesel's Engine" written by Lyle Cummins.
History of Rudolph's engine up to fairly recent past.
Plenty technical, with LOTS of cool pix and diagrams.
Lots of B-I-G engines!
Was able to borrow it from a friend to read...
