Honestly, I don't think it's very healthy for you to stuff your emotions like that... can't you feel the love in the room?

Tell us how you really feel!

The fact is that passenger diesels in the U.S. and CA in particular are not common because of legislation that is based on ignorance. Gassers produce more CO2 emissions than an equivalent diesel motor would produce. We all know CO2 is a greenhouse gas and is becoming more of a hot topic every passing day. Where diesels fail when compared to gassers is in NOx and particulate emissions. These contribute more heavily towards the appearance of smog than gasoline emissions.

With the release of ULS fuel, diesel passenger cars should begin to meet Federal and local emissions standards. Particulate traps and catalytic converters will bring diesels down to the same standards that gassers currently meet while at the same time emitting less CO2.

A smoke letter is exactly what I would expect from liberal metropolises. Pointing a finger at the other guy requires much less effort than lifting a finger to improve ones-self. Lead by example, not legislation.

Sick, I’m with you on having fun. Consider me a moderate environmentalist. I’m patiently waiting for my powerful hybrid diesel truck.

After getting my smoke letter (on a stock 6.9) I've heard from people who have turned other vehicles in. Mine smoked on hills but I tried to keep it down with a little less throttle. A friend of mine got a letter on a vehicle that had not been off of his property in at least FIVE years. Hmmmm.

westspirit,

why don't you start a "movement" to convert all of the diesel stations to either PEANUT oil or soy oil pumping stations and lets all go bio and support the AMERICAN FARMER!!!!!!!!!

until then quit whining about a little smoke!

Preach on, brother...
Hey Spirit, I farted the other day when I was at the snow and it smoked a little. Should I get a smog check?

Because then peanut oil would cost $50.00 a gallon.

And I would be driving all day on the black market Saudi oil that would be costing be $.15 a gallon...

If the American farmer all of a sudden finds 40 times more arable land, then we might be on.
