From Fleetguard

10um at 98.7%, 5um at 83%.. There is no published rating for the FF5712 at 3um, as it a 10um filter.

Looking at the FASS website they have updated their data to indicate their change in filters for the Titanium (95) pump. I like they claim they changed due to a mfgr issue, and not mention the best filter you could get was 10um!

The FF-2003 is a Donaldson P553203 4um filter (still not the 3um claimed) at 98.7% and 7um at 100%. Its a great filter. Now if they would just make an adapter to run dual 1-14" filters you would have the best pump offered. Dual 1-14" isn't offered by anyone, and supports the best filters.

The 1R-0749 has 1-14 threads, and you can have all 3 FASS pumps have 1-14 threads, but thats for the f/w sep only, the final fuel filter threads are different and the 1R-0749 or 1R-0750 (short version) won't fit.

you must be able to pick up an adapter to run 5320 filters at some kind of hydrolic store or something...??
what size are the threads on the fass that the adapter screws into?

No clue what the size it, you could call and ask FASS. They sell the one to go from 13/16 - 16 to 1-14 on the 95 series. The HD series run 1 1/2-1, and i don't think they have an adapter.

By 5320 are you referring to the FF5320? Thats a 5um filter, true 2um are the cat or Donaldson P551313.

Unless you plan on using the coolant fuel heater on the Titanium then just get the Platinum, cheaper and same filter.

Just observing this one....but i will point out this one fact about the FASS:

It HATES restriction on the suction side of the pump. AND guess where the Water Separator is? Yup......and that is why it was 140 um. To allow the flow of 95+ GPH Fuel though it without cavatating the pump and causing pressure drops under load like some of y'all are seeing with the FS-1000 or equivalent. My 2 cents.......

Carry on.....

So go with the Platinum and swap out the filter with the 14 thread adaptor and go with the other filters?

The Platinum comes with a 1-14 thread filter, the P553203, which is 4um absolute and meets OE spec for f/w separation.

I just spoke with Rick at Fass and he assured me that the filters have been changed since this thread and recalls this thread as well. Does the titanium pump come with the 1-14 threads as well? Also rick said that they are useing Donaldson filters... I didnt ask him what number though...
Also how would the Platinum do the same as the Titanium when one consist of two filters and the othere with one? I appolagize for my ignorants to this but i dont know this stuff at all! Thank you for the information guys!

One more thing on the price... I can get the Platinum for $455.00 and the Titanium for $525.00 ... I guess is what im asking to look at the Titanium with the dual filters it would be worth paying the xtra $70.00... Should i look at it this way or is the Platinum just a better all around filter pump?

Both the Platinum and titanium use the P553202, made by Donaldson. The first filter on the titanium is just a large screen. The one they use is rated for 20 GPH, 50% free and 0% emulsifed so you don't get much out of it, the P553203 does all the filtering and f/w sep so thats how the Platinum does as much with 1 filter.

If you put a different filter on the titanium, such as the Baldwin BF1275 you actually get 2 good f/w sep's vs 1 good one. But that's up to you if you want to spend the extra $70.
