Usually get an iced tea and just sit on my toolbox in the back of my truck and watch the big dogs get off I-80 and go to their filling station of choice, grab some grub and get their truck washed.

Pretty cool to see all the different loads and hear the different engines...

The 8" or 10" stacks are the best...
To be young and adventurous again . Some of use have had our time at the truck stops and would prefer not to be there. There was a time when I would look at trucks as hard as I would a fine specimen of the female kind. Now I just look at it all, thinking every thing gets old and ragged,(including myself) Having said that I have found myself looking at the points I have made and think, to be young and adventurous again.

When listening to the trucks come and go you can sure tell how the good drivers shift gears as compared to the throttle stompers.

It really sucks when you park far away from reefers then an hour after you fall asleep the truck next to you leaves and a reefer backs in the spot . Then there's truckstops right next to railroad tracks with trains rumbling by blowing the horns every couple of hours .

I've slept in my truck a number of times during long trips to florida. Florida near Dautona on the I 95 was the dumbest idea...i got there at 2 am and it was cool outside so i hopped in the passenger seat and cracked the window an inch and slept with a blanket...woke up 9 am sweating in 85 degree weather with a heat rash all over me...I do like the idea of an armed cop at every stop in Florida though...nicest sleep i had was just getting out of the West Virginia mountains into North Carolina heading south...oh what a view and perfect weather to sleep...haha yes yes i am a bit red neck i guess
