Dozer lacking on power

Got a dresser td 7e. Its lacking on hydraulic power. Engine seems to run on full power but is seems to loose drive power to the tracks. Sometimes it runs fine then if a dog the next couple days. Gonna change the filter on the hydraulics, but it just seems weird that its fine sometimes and weak others. Any one got some thoughts or a place to look on the net for info on dressers?

I don't know about Dressers specifically but your question seems confusing. Is it lacking hydraulic power, power to the drive motors, or both. The transmission normally has no bearing on the hydraulics or visa versa, unless it's just made that way. Normally, you will have a filter on the transmission. You could also have a plugged pick-up screen in the transmission, bad charge pump, or sticking brakes. You might try here. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/Forum/index.php?

I mean the drive motors. The brakes arent sticking, its just somedays it will push like hell other days is got no drive power. I can remember a time or to is was a dog and then all a suden you felt it kick in and get its power back.

Try a filter change like you're planning and make sure the fluid is topped off. If that doesn't do it, you might try to locate an old shop manual for it. Try Ebay, they have tons of manuals there.
